This Sunday, September 13th, we invite you to join us as we welcome back Rachel Burlock as our guest preacher.  

Rachel is a writer, musician, podcaster, mother, and pastor. Over the course of her career she has worked as a Radio Shack manager, youth pastor, burrito engineer, professional musician, equity analyst, and Portuguese interpreter. She majored in English and Portuguese in college, and received her Masters in Divinity from Boston University in 2011. She is currently in the ordination process in the United Church of Christ, and volunteers as a teacher and interpreter at a correctional facility. 

We hope you will be able to attend to hear Rachel and enjoy the fellowship.

Please help the Northwood Emergency Food Pantry and End 68 Hours of Hunger (which services Northwood and surronding comunities) restock their shelves. We will be holding a food drive for these two organizations this Sunday, August 30, from 9 AM to 11 AM. Representatives for each program will be at the church to answer any questions you may have.

This Sunday we will gather for our third Bible Exploration at 9:30.  We’ll start with coffee or tea, treats, and check-ins.  Then we will listen to the reading of our selected Biblical passages, followed by a time for personal reflection.

 

Based on what we find in the readings for our own lives, we’ll give some time to express our thoughts or feelings through writing poetry or prose, or through visual arts, and perhaps through discussion. If you’d like to read ahead of time, here are our readings for this Sunday morning:

 In honor of our country's 250th anniversay, this Sunday, July 5^th, we invite all local poets and students to a poetry salon to be held at Northwood Congregational Church in Fellowship Hall beginning at 9:30 a.m.  To start off the program, Michael Moore will present a brief history of the founding of the country.  Poems, songs and readings from the community are encouraged!  Coffee, tea, and light snacks will be available.  Whether you attend to share, listen, or enjoy the commrarderie, all are welcome to come and enjoy these poems, and readings celebrating the 250^th anniversary of the birth of the United States!!

This Sunday, June 21st, we will have our Exploring Scripture through Discussion and Art beginning at 9:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall, led by Shelley Frost.  One of the scripture readings we will explore is Matthew 10:24-39.  We hope you will be able to join us as we explore the Bible in a new and exciting way!
